"With their solid expertise, competent advice and professional implementation, the IT-HAUS employees impress us time and time again. Whether for day-to-day IT problems or the expansion of our infrastructure - IT-HAUS supports us competently and flexibly. And since the outsourcing of our data backup at the latest, I can sleep more soundly as the company's IT officer."
Project environment
Over the years, the two-man business has developed into a flourishing architectural practice. During this time, the staff of the Luxembourg company Schemel Wirtz Architectes Associés has grown to over 20 employees. One of them had already been looking after and setting up the IT infrastructure on the side for years. Constantly increasing data volumes and employees who need to access data while on the move, as well as ever stricter legal requirements regarding data security - at some point, a part-time administrator will no longer be able to cope with all of this. Absences due to vacation or illness also delay important projects and cause extra costs. The company had already sought support from an external service provider in the past, but soon outgrew its capacity and consequently looked for a new partner.
Project success
Since the start of the collaboration in 2015, IT-HAUS has been supporting the architecture firm Schemel Wirtz Architectes Associés as an external IT department. While the customer continues to manage its client workstations itself, IT-HAUS is responsible for the underlying IT infrastructure. To this end, a flexible maintenance contract with an indefinite term was concluded with the customer, which includes all desired services as well as the agreed response and recovery times (SLA). The customer only pays a monthly flat rate. In order to determine this, an inventory of the server and network environment was first taken on site, which IT-HAUS used to estimate the average cost of purely system maintenance services (checking for problems, updates, etc.). The maintenance appointments are billed using this quota. If the architecture firm requires additional services, these will be charged according to the time and effort involved. Alternatively, the service contract can be adjusted at any time - for example, if the number of employees fluctuates or the company switches to lower-maintenance technologies.
The service level
The contractually agreed services include active monitoring of the architecture firm's server and network environment, as well as the software used in the company and continuous data backup checks. Furthermore, the systems are regularly checked as part of so-called health checks. This includes installing security patches and updates, analyzing the available storage space and searching for error messages in the log file. Health checks are usually carried out remotely, but can also be performed as an on-site service if required. Failures and downtimes can be effectively prevented through permanent monitoring and early intervention. The customer benefits from a more stable environment. They are proactively informed of any problems and receive immediate support if required. This not only saves valuable time, but also money. In addition, the environment is so well documented as a result of many years of collaboration that IT-HAUS can react immediately even in the event of an unexpected failure. To ensure that the architecture firm Schemel Wirtz is also prepared in the event of a disaster, IT-HAUS also backs up its data in its high-security data center in Frankfurt/Main. In this way, business-critical data can be restored at any time and the customer has access to it via the Internet, even if the hardware is destroyed on site as a result of a fire or storm damage. Every change within the environment - whether at the customer's request or on the recommendation of the IT-HAUS experts - is accompanied by IT-HAUS . The comprehensive advice is supplemented by annual feedback meetings, which constantly optimize and further develop the service concept. With IT-HAUS as a strong partner at its side, the architecture firm Schemel Wirtz saves on personnel and training costs and can concentrate fully on its core business, the planning and development of sophisticated buildings.
