#7: NIS2 - The new EU directive puts companies under pressure to act

What managing directors should know now!

With the revised Network and Information Security Directive (NIS2), the European Union is creating uniform EU-wide minimum standards for the resilience of companies and authorities against cyber attacks.

The NIS2 Implementation and Cyber Security Strengthening Act (NIS2UmsuCG), which transposes the NIS2 Directive into national law, is expected to come into force in Germany in October 2024.

We take a closer look at which companies are affected by the new EU directive and what entrepreneurs need to know now. What are the consequences of non-compliance? What reporting obligations will exist in future and who is liable if the directive is breached?

Digital document management at last

What is the purpose of a DMS solution? To digitize, automate and simplify processes and, of course, save time and money. Document management systems can be used by all companies, regardless of their size.

Before a DMS is implemented, the existing processes must be analyzed in order to introduce the new system in a way that best suits the company. An example of this is an invoice receipt process, which exists in every company. Depending on the effort involved, the implementation of a DMS takes between 6 and 12 months until it is fully usable.
