The challenge

The customer is a modern publishing house with around 280 employees in North Rhine-Westphalia. In the ongoing digitization process, the publishing house requires a secure and fast WLAN for its day-to-day work. The resulting requirements for availability and security could no longer be met by the existing network. A new, better and more secure WLAN network was needed. When it came to finding a solution, the customer relied on the comprehensive and uncomplicated collaboration with IT-HAUS GmbH .

Solution

The new network solution for the main site and the secondary site needed to be easy to manage, future-proof and meet current security standards. A virtual WLAN rollout was carried out using software based on the floor plan of the main site in order to estimate the scope of the project and determine the number of access points required per floor. In addition, the WLAN had to be extended to the roof terrace of the publishing house. As the central point of contact, IT-HAUS ensured timely and cost-efficient delivery to the respective locations and ensured the integration of the new network - from WLAN coverage to technical implementation at both locations. The experts at IT-HAUS GmbH installed around 60 Aruba access points and four Aruba controllers to set up the WLAN. In addition, the WLAN was expanded on the roof terrace of the publishing house and in the outdoor area. An Aruba access point suitable for outdoor use was used for this purpose. The controllers are used for simple, centralized management and configuration of the access points. The controllers are centrally controlled using a Mobility Master license. This takes over the management of the network environment and ensures 24/7 availability (including updates). The customer benefited from early project support by an experienced technician from IT-HAUS GmbH , who carried out the planning, design and implementation as well as the final check. As a result, the customer benefited from a central contact person with a holistic view of the implemented project.
